Holly, that’s slightly incorrect…

The “15” means that Maxwell is running BC15 application on a BC23 runtime. Someone has just runtime upgraded the system and not loaded the proper bc23 app files.

Hi…

Your Business Central on-premises installation details provide specific information about the version and build of the software you are using. Here’s what each part of the version information means:

  1. Version: W1 23.0:

    • W1: This indicates that you are using the “Worldwide” (W1) version of Business Central. The W1 version is a global version that is not tailored to any specific country or region’s localization requirements.
    • 23.0: This denotes the major version number of Business Central. In this case, it’s version 23.0, which corresponds to the latest release version at the time of your installation.
  2. Platform 23.0.12831.0:

    • This specifies the platform version of Business Central. The platform version includes the core system components and runtime necessary for the application to operate.
    • 23.0: This part again indicates the major version number, aligning with the application version.
    • 12831.0: This is the build number of the platform, indicating a specific iteration or update within the 23.0 version.
  3. Application 15.0.36560.36649:

    • This refers to the application version of Business Central, which includes the business logic, features, and functionalities available to users.
    • 15.0: This indicates the major version number of the application.
    • 36560.36649: These numbers are the build numbers for the application. They show the specific iteration or update of the application components.

Summary

You are using the Worldwide (W1) version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, major version 23.0. The platform version is 23.0.12831.0, and the application version is 15.0.36560.36649.

This indicates you have the core system components and runtime necessary for the Business Central application at platform version 23.0 with build 12831.0, and the application business logic and features at version 15.0 with build 36560.36649. It’s important to note that version and build numbers help in identifying the specific updates and features available in your installation, as well as for troubleshooting and support purposes.

We never upgraded. We were having issues with the license and we got issued another one and that’s the moment i noticed that change, could it be a license which caused this?
