Axapta 3.0 Automatic Service Restart Failing

Hi All,

We have Axapta 3.0 installed on 2 of our servers used for old data reference and every time we do maintenance which includes server reboots the service does not restart automatically unlike the latest versions of Axapta. Is there a known issue about this? Tried searching but couldn’t find anything on this.

Object Server Setup has been set to Automatic along with the Object Server Properties.

Server is running on Windows 2003 SP2

Many thanks in Advance

Hello,

If it does not start automatically, then it must be showing some kind of error code or exception message in the Event viewer or so. Could you let us know what exactly it says to understand the problem more clearly.

Hi,

Apologies, was looking at the wrong logs and thought there was nothing on it. Upon further checking saw that there was 3 event logs just after the database restarted. After some consultation i think the the service tried to connect to the database server but since it’s still initializing (db went up 8:03:38PM) Axapta couldn’t connect properly. The below logs shows that it tried but then completely stopped. Could the db connection be the cause why it doesn’t restart properly?

Many thanks,

V

Okay now it is somewhat clear. As you see in the event log, access was denied message is displayed due to which server couldn’t start. Make sure that your SQL server service also set to Automatic start and same Logon account is specified for both AOS and SQL server.
