Hi,
Does anybody have some material about the new moving average inventory valuation principle (docus, whitepaper, etc.). I have not been able to find some good information except the one released on Technet.
Hope you can help.
Thanks,
Ludwig

Hi,
I guess nothing has changed in moving average cost calculation in AX 2012. You can refer white paper of AX 2009, that should server your purpose.
Pranav…
Hi Pranav,
Moving average has actually been introduced with AX2012 Retail.
I found out that it is something completely new.
I guess you mix it with the old ‘weighted average’ valuation principle.
Ludwig
Hi Ludwing,
Just a point of confirmation…, does it has any relation with inventory costing in standard AX?
I was looking for Moving average in Retail module but didn’t find anything. Where are you accessing moving average from?
Pranav…
Hi Pranav,
You can see this new model if you run AX2012 with the Feature Pack installed.
It is not available in the standard AX2012 application.
Ludwig
Hi Ludwing,
I have installed Feature Pack too, but can’t see moving average price.
Anyway, i am more concerned about inventory costing here and i guess moving average is not related here.
Pranav…
Hi Pranav,
I attached a pct. of the selections that I have in my system.
Unfortunately, I have not found any good information/documentation about the moving average principle.
Ludwig
I’m having the same problem…Cannot find any valuable materials about the new costing method
Hi Ludwig,
In the Partner Source should have the training material Costing and Inventory Valuation in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 (Course Number 80418) but I could not find it. But I found one material called Hands-on Lab Costing and Inventory Valuation in Microsoft Dynamics AX2012. In this material, you will go to find information about cost price. In this material doesn’t have information about “Moving Average”. I’m finding that the “Moving Average” is of the Retail.
Please, let us know if you find something.
Thanks
Can you share the partner source link for the above material ?
