AX WO BOM Consumption incorrect

I’m using BOMs & Routes and recently changed 1 Raw Mat’l item to use Batch Nos. I noticed that on the items with batch # the Work Order BOM Consumption changes from the Item Master BOM. It’s not consistent, but enough to occur often (1 to 4x per day). We process ~ 15-20 WO per day. The material that changes is also the only item on the BOM with fractional usage. eg:

Item master BOM:

item 1 usage 1 ea

item 2 usage 223.6 MSI

Then the WO would show:

item 1 usage 1 ea

item 2 usage 203.6 MSI

In addition, the Batch # is not specified in the WOs.

Any ideas what can cause this?

First of all welcome to the Dynamics User Group.

I’m a little confused - is this an AX question (because it’s in the Nav forum) or are you talking about Nav production orders?

Nothing to do with batch numbers with the BOM quantity anomaly, logically this has to be something to do with your BOM construction - look at scrap, any modifications? Any add-on’s like process. Any measurement metrics?

The batch number for the raw material would not appear on the works order, this is the parent item which is not batch controlled.

The raw material batch will appear on the picking list and picking list journal depending upon your reservation settings.
