Hi,
Thank you for reading this post. We have Ax 2009 installed on a server whose domain in “ABC” and now we want to install AX 2009 client with debugger options on a machine which is in domain “XYZ”. Also, the server is running on a 64 bit OS and local machine on 32 bit OS, does this mean I may have to consider few more points? We tried the normal client installation but ended up getting error as “Connection with the Application Object Server could not be established”. We tried following all possible options available online, viz.
Ax instance is running
Tried to export the server configuration file to the client
Trying to install client using command prompt option or “Silent install”
My questions are:
Can client be on a different domain than that of a server?
Is yes, where can I get the configuration file for client connection (the MS AX Configuration utility is exactly the same at client to that as server)
I am not an expert on advanced network related issues. But in your case as long as there is a trust setup correctly between these domains, AX should be able to connect. From the client machine, are you able to ping IP address of AOS server?
And regarding client running in 32 bit, you should create a separate configuration file for 32 bit clients.
