Average cost per item, not per item/warehouse

Hi,

I have a question about average cost calculation in AX.

We are implementing AX 2009 and will have two warehouses but not sure how AX calculate average cost when we select Weighted avg. as inventory model.

Dose AX calculate average cost per item or per the combination of item and warehouse?

It depends how the dimension group is configured.

I am new to AX. So could you tell me how to setup dimension group for both senario: average cost per item & average cost per the combination of item and warehouse?

HI as adam it depends upon the Dimension Group Setup.

If you want the average item cost for Item and Ware house - in dimension group attached to that item- for the warehouse - enable(check) - Physical Inventory and Financial Inventory.

If you want only for item don’t use it.
