Hi, In Navision 3.6 I tried to run a calculate depriciation batch job.The system did not throw any message on posting , nor did it make any depriciation entries.Has anybody tried this - I want to know if this automatic posting works.[8D] Best Regards.
Hi Prashant It will not auto-post the depreciation for you, but it will create a GL journal for you to adjust (or not) and then post. If the fixed assets included in the batch job are integrated with the general ledger (defined in the depreciation book used in the batch job), the program transfers the entries to the FA G/L journal. Otherwise, the batch job transfers the entries to the FA journal. Try it in Cronus if you are unsure [:D]
I guess you wouldnt have posted the acquisition entry for the assets. A probelm faced frequently by all users of FA. Logically there can be no depreciation unless the asset is acquired. Also in navision you are supposed to post acquisition entry for each and every depreciation book.
