Automatic bank reconciliation

Hi,

One of our customer was asking about the possibility of automatic reconciliation of Bank statements received.

Say like they get an Excel sheet, from the Bank which contains the details of the transactions. This Excel sheet is downloaded from the Bank’s website on a daily basis. There are numerous transaction per day.

Now they are asking that is it possible to get this soft copy of the statement uploaded in Navision and how can we do some sort of reconciliation which will save some time. Now the problem which I found was in this customer’s case, they get their revenue from Online transactions, so always the Bank balance as per the Bank statement will be high than in Navision; and there will not be any corresponding record in Navision.

Please give me some input.

I have seen many automatic bank account reconciliation add-ons.

The most advanced add-ons also handle statement entries that don’t match Navision entries. If there isn’t any matching entry then the user has the option to automatically create a G/L entry or by try to found out similar entry in a larger period.

If you have a customer that many bank statement entries that you don’t have in Navision. During automatic bank reconciliation you should be able to automatically add those new entries to Navision.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. The customer is not interested in buying any 3rd party software. I prefer to upload the data to the Bank reconciliation line and header table. If anyone can help me in this direction, it will be really great.

Thanks

In bank reconciliation you have the option to add entries only in bank statement by copying to a journal. You should go by that way.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry, I did not get you;can you please explain in detail to me. I am new to Navision

In Bank Account Reconciliation can appear lines that are only in bank statement. You can copy those entries to a Journal by using Functions → Transfer to General Journal.

Those lines can by interests, etc.
