AOS User Problem

i was purchase 70 user and I using 1 Aos Server. I monitoring the online active users and even though sometimes there are only 60 or 65 users active, it does not allow other users to login and gives the error that “more users have loggedin than the purchased users”. How to resolve this issue ? Thanks in advace rais

Hi Sorry to say, but there is hardly any way of resolving this. Very often in AOS, users get kicked out or are not ending Axapta properly. All those users will still count as online users ! Imagine a user has a long running report and doesn’t want to wait anymore. He kills Axapta with task manager, but his user will still count. All those users are still in the axdat.udb file which can only be deleted when no AOS servers are running. My suggestion therefore is: set up your system so it restarts the AOS servers every night and at the same time deletes the axdat.udb file. There is one more thing: many Microsoft people advise to configure “Opportunistic Locking” in Windows (Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;296264) Hope that helps.

hi Thank you for your respon, can you explain me a little bit about the opportunistic locking in window, if i configure it can i delete the axdb.udb file while AOS server is running, because i can’t restart the AOS server every night there are still some user acces the AOS server. Thanks

Hi Rais, If you are using any backup software, do please disable or uninstall it. Regarding your query about axdb.udb, you can delete this file only when no users are connected. Regards, Harish Mohanbabu
