Account number for transaction type Production, report as finished does not exist

When reporting as finished a production order the following error message is coming up.

Account number for transaction type Production, report as finished does not exist

I am assuming that this is some sort of ledger or COA setup but unsure. Can anyone help.

See if the accounts are defined in Inventory management → Setup → Posting → Production tab

Checked and all that was OK.

I have managed to locate what the issue was and it was down to the Item Group being down as a Purchased, when in actual fact we were building it on a production order. Also had to change a Financial Dimension.

Sorry i am not clear on what you said.

The error can also happen, if the account is not a part of any accounting structure attached to the Ledger (this is for AX 2012).
