Why set DataItemTableView property as a SORTING(Number) WHERE(Number=FILTER(1..))

hii,

i show many report with integer dataitem i know when we set DataItemTableView property as a SORTING(Number) WHERE(Number=FILTER(1)) but don’t understand why we use set DataItemTableView property as a SORTING(Number) WHERE(Number=FILTER(1…)) and set DataItemTableView property as a SORTING(Number) WHERE(Number=FILTER(1.))

in a navision?

Hi Expn,
The integer data type goes from -2147483647 to 2147483647. If you don’t add a filter, then the report dataitem will start at -2147483647 and make loops until it reaches 2147483647.

“WHERE(Number=FILTER(1))” is used when you only need one “loop”.

If you use “WHERE(Number=FILTER(1…))” then it will start at 1 and continue to 2147483647.

When using this code, then you will typically have a “CurrReport.BREAK” on the OnAfterGetRecord dataitem to break the loop. If you don’t have a break then it will continue to the end of the integer.

thank you…Erik p. Ernst
