Hi guys and the moderators… What happened, the Indian forum has gone into a slump isit? why dont the moderators come up with something which will involve everyone… regards venax,
hi Venu, Ya it seems the India forum has gone to sleep. I will try my best to get it up awake again. regards vaibhav pednekar
Hi venu, thank you for the wake up call, yes we did try to initiate some discussion on the present market prospects of Navision in India, this I feel is the key issue being discussed across forum’s on ERP within the navision fraternity. we need more participation from India based users/implementors too. any suggestions on how to make it a more dynamic and topics of relevance in the current scenario are welcome. thanks
Hi All, Let’s figure out which industries in India would be well suited for Navision in India, based on no. of successful implementations worldwide. Regards, Anuj
Let’s first discuss about the product, its enhancements, bug fixes etc., then on the users, their feedback, then on the product fit, positioning etc., Product reference, implementor reference etc., Pricing is also a factor I am interested to participate actively. I have one big concern. How many of Navision consultant (particularly in India) are active full time on Navision and would like to continue with this ERP. (As ratio of available consultants to requirements is a huge number.(As I am thinking of re-locating from this ERP!!! with over 2 years of ERP off-shore development, over 5-6 implementations (1 with Navision itself)
At last after a long gap I have seen some posting on this forum.Many-many congratulation to all of you to make this forum alive and hope the same will continue in future…

Hi All, As already discussed in the forum on 'SWOT with respect to Indian Market ’ I feel pricing is where it comes to the crunch, The indian customer is more price concious than anywhere else, and I have seen good deals and customers say no since we were not price competitive, the market is full of local erp’s which meet the basic localisation requirements at a much lower cost. The future of Navision in India ofcourse depends on the people working on it. [:D] regards
hi, I heard that Microsoft is going to overtake Navision India, is it right ??

no official announcement as yet. But hoping for the best. [:)]
There are quite a lot of NSCs dealing with MBS-Navision in India but what about Axapta? Also learnt that there are some big players entering as Partners(NSCs/MCBSPs), what do you people think about such a move?
axapta has a low score no doubt, not more than two or three installations (exact figure i don’t have at the moment, shall provide it soon) and few nsc’s too. Two or three big names too are there in the NSC list, but if the target sector is the SME sector the present policy of having a good spread acros the country is quite appropriate. Brand names will off course add to the glamour and will help the smaller firms too. regards
Hi! The Indian version is best suited for MTO, MTS in Discrete Manufacturing. The Process manufactuirng needs features like Document Management, Quality which needs to adhere to stringent standards, also by-products(which can be handled by workaround currently) and co-products which are currently not handled. We need to wait for the Sub-contracting and the Quality module which they are supposed to release. Thanks Jyothi Mohan

Hi Mohan, Are you telling me that navision has to comout with a process manufacturing solution by itself. There are quite a few process manufacturing solutions available as verticals for navision. i myself was involved in making a process manufacturing solution (it was 2.5 years back) and we had features like by-products, co-products, catalysts etc… we also had Process costing – costing by “weighted averages”, I see the process solution from US is much advanced than this and see most of ur concers handeled there. regards venax…
Hi Venu! Can u pass on the source or website, from where I can get information on the addons for process manufacturing.Im really not aware of that(we are a new NSC) and Im glad that you have shared this information with me. Regards Jyothi Mohan
Hi! But I personally feel that the base solution itself should support Mixed mode manufacturing, as the members might be aware that manufacturing companies do not follow purely discrete, purely process manufacturing processes. What do the other members feel? Warm Regards Jyothi Mohan
The process Manufacturing Add-on is available from one of India’s NSCs(Connect-IT Solutions,Bangalore) part of Naviworld group. Check website: http://www.naviworld.com.
