Is it just me or did they forget Spanish in the US (North American) release of version 5.0?
For instance… Below is the ML property from the County field in release 5.0 that I downloaded from Partner Source yesterday.
ENU=State;FRC=Comté;ENC=Province/State
Here is the same property from the version 4.0sp2 release
ENU=State;ESM=Provincia;FRC=Comté;ENC=Province/State
I have an ISV product to merge, but I’d really rather not do it twice. Does anybody know if they dropped ESM from the North American dB?
Thanks for the link and the response. I hope the Spanish language layer gets added back into the North American release in the future. I think it strengthen’s the market position of the product. I think this is especially true for South Western U.S. states where there is a potentially significant number of Spanish speaking users. As an ISV we can market to a larger audience with ESM included.
It’s interesting to still find this kind of verbage in the NA release document
“In addition, each of these three check reports can handle either the / Mexican or the Canadian check image, and can handle English, French or Spanish. The check image is controlled by the Country/Region code of the bank on which the check is written. To set this up, you must tell, on the Company Information card (Payments tab), which of the Country/Regions codes stand for the , which for , and which for . The language of the check, on the other hand, is controlled by the Bank Communication field on the Vendor (or Customer or Bank Account) Card of the vendor (or customer or bank) to which the check is written.”
If Mexico will have it’s own version, it is confusing to have this statement still in the North American release notes without a specific note that the ESM captions have been removed.
In order to handle certain legal requirements in , a new table was added to enter official, government provided inflation adjustments into the system. This will be used (in future versions) to make inflation adjustments to Fixed Asset valuations, among other things. Note that we are not releasing version 5.0 in . (PSC#1015)
