Using XDS to Filter Methods of Payment on Several Users

Hello Everyone,

I would like some1 to explain how to use XDS filtering certain data on different users … either giving some link to a video or a tutorial … I’ve read some threads about XDS and still meeting issues using it.

what I’m trying to do here is filtering methods of payment on different users.

Hello Anitha,

While trying to make Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 R3 Applicable for my company I’ve met an issue which i couldn’t work it out … as I’m trying to find a way to filter methods of payment due to users ? (AR Module)

as an example :

User1 only sees Methods of payment 1 , 2 and 3
User2 only sees Methods of payment 1 , 2 and 4
User3 sees Methods of payment 3 , 4 , 5 and 6

Ahmed,

Have you tried creating a query and add range for “Methods of Payment”?. This query will in turn be used in XDS policies.

Hi Ahmed,

You can create a policy per user (also copy the roles) by creating a query per combination of methods.
A better solution would be creating a new table where you can link method of payments with users. Then you can create a single policy.
An example how to create a security policy is provided in my (older) blog post. This is not related to your example, but might give some ideas.
