I need help! I am currently using Navision 3.53 (AL-version) and I need to upgrade to 3.6x in order to use the nettype functionality. I have the programme diskette, but no access to upgrading my AL-licence. Can anyone help me?
If i remember correctly you can just put the licence in the right directory. (Is the licence file named Navi_inf.dat?) I hope this is what you mean.

Thank you for your reply. Putting the old navi_inf.dat file in the new directory is not enough. I need access to a “configurator” - I think that’s what they used to call it…
When you upgrade your version to use network you should have both, the current version program and the current version updated license. When upgrading to a new version your NSC will provide you also with the license version license. It seems by your post that you just have “obtained” the program without really asking for an upgrade and you’re just trying to upgrade the program without having “paid for” upgrading it… so your license is the old one… BTW… why to upgrade to 3.6 when it’s an out-of catalog product that has no support??? I don’t have a NSC contact. I have an AL licence that I obtained many years ago (PC&C set me up in Australia). I have been given the upgrade disks, but need access to a configurator in order to update my licence file. I am happy to pay for the upgrade. Which NSCs have access to the old configurator? I use the DOS version because I have made so many changes to the system that it would be a monster task to upgrade to Windows. Besides, I personally feel that data processing on any great scale belongs in the DOS environment rather than Windows. Having to constantly drop the keyboard to pick up a mouse is a pain in the butt. I have 90 people on staff, and when we were forced to upgrade our payroll system to a Windows based system, it slowed processing of the payroll down considerably. Anyway, that’s a different story…
You MUST contact the NTR/NAVISON office that originally assigned you the license. They are the only ones who can update it if you don’t have a configurator yourself. Regular NSC’s cannot upgrade Development Partner (and alike) licenses. Best regards, Erik P. Ernst, webmaster
