Hello,
I’m having problems Finishing Production Orders.
Let’s say, for example, the Quantity is 30, the Finished Quantity is 0 and the Outstanding Quantity is 30. When i go to Production Journal (5510) and set the Output Quantity to 30, the boolean Finished to YES and then press Register, it says it registered everything, but when i go to the PO, the quantities remain the same.
This doesn’t happen to every Production Order, just to some, but we were unable to find differences between then that would couse this problem.
Thanks in advance,
Eduardo
Sounds like you have a customized process. The standard Change Status function does not have an option for Output, as that is supposed to be posted prior to Finishing the Production Order. Here is what the standard screen looks like:
I apologize. It’s in the Production Journal where I set register the Output Quantity.
This is what it looks like:
Eduardo,
So you open the Production Journal and you enter your Output and check the Finished flag. You click Post. You are saying when you look at the Released Production Order the Finished Quantity still shows 0?
My Released PROD Order had a Quantity of 1 so I click Post and now my Finished does show 1.
Have you tried testing this in CRONUS. If you click Post and you produce Output, the Finished Quantity will increase. I would test again.
Thanks,
Steve
Steve,
My steps are exactly that, but some, not all, of the production orders don’t update the Finished Quantity.
I’ll try with Cronus, but I can’t replicate the problem.
Thanks.
It is important to know the last Operation is the only one that will update the “Finished Quantity” on the Production Order Line.
For example, if I have two Operations 10 and 20, and I Post Output of 5 on Operation 10, there will be 0 Finished Quantity on the Production Order Line. If I then Post Output of 5 for Operation 20, my Finished Quantity will show as 5 on the Production Order Line.
This also means my Finished Good will not show Quantity on Hand until I have Posted Output for the last Operation on the Production Order.

Ben,
This problem only happens when it’s only Operation 10.
Could it be that you have another routing line with backward flushing? That will not appear in the Production Journal. When you change status to Finished, that routing will be posted.
