Turning Demand OFF at the BOM Level

Hello All,

First of all, we are using AX 2009… and thanks in advance for any help you can offer

We have a part on BOM’s , thought they are the same part,we build some on site and some are sent from our other Site.

So we have different demand for different BOM’s, some require the parts inside the BOM to trigger demand and some are treat like a “Purchased BOM”

How can i turn demand off for the ones we bring in from another site that we don’t need demand for all the parts below the top level?

I was told turning ON “work center consumption” would achieve this, is this the right way to do this?

Well the “work centre consumption” would put the site and warehouse at a consumption level from that on teh production order, so I am not sure how this helps you in this instance.

You could look at using build in one warehouse and planning has replenishment of production order, and at another it is purchase order.
