Transfer Items with negative stock

I know it has been discussed already multiple times in this forum, but the outcome is not really satisfying. I have a very special problem where it can happen that a lot of documents need to be posted in a batch process. This process needs to compress the postings in a certain way (mainly for sales and credit transactions). On the other hand we have to post warehouse documents like transfer orders immediately. This can lead into the fact that there are some items where the “Sales Credit Note” has not been posted yet (so no positive stock posted yet) but the store has already moved the stock to another location and needs to post the transfer order immediately. Has anyone found a solution which can transfer negative stock AND does not confuse the costing in Navision for any costing method.

The bottom line is no. The Costing really hates when you do this. The closest I have come is to leave the entire open amount as one negative entry (Note there is one negative ILE created for each positive ILE that the Transfer out is assigned to). If I remember there was some custom to force this, but can’t remember the details. This will work with the costing (applying after the fact) as long as one single positive ILE is applied to the remaining Transfer Out Entry. This is near impossible to control after the fact.

In fact it is very weird that Navision does not allow it because: Testscenario: Receive 100 items with 50 Unit Cost to Location A (pos.Adj.) Move the 100 items from Location A to Location B (Transfer Order) Move 50 items back to location A (Transfer Order) Sell 20 items from Location A + 20 Items from Location B (Sales Order) Run a revaluation on the initial pos. Adjm. for new unit cost of 60 Run the Adjust Costs batch job. Check the item ledger entries: Everything has the new unit cost.
