Transfer asset to an Inventory item

Our client will be using A2012 R3. When Assets reach their salvage value they wish to be able to transfer then to the inventory ledger as a item. From my research the ‘Inventory to Fixed Asset’ journal does not enable this functionality. Is there a way to enable the mentioned transaction.

There is no standard process available to cater this scenario. You can dispose the asset at same salvage value. In this case no Profit/ Loss will be booked.

Then one Movement journal can be created and offset with the account which is selected in above transaction.

This will make that Fixed Asset available in Inventory.
