Tick Mark in some field

If we drill down the field “Inventory” at the General Tab in Item Card, then we can see that there is a field / coloum call " OPEN " The question is what does it mean when there is a tick mark in that coloum and what does it mean when there is no tick mark in that coloum ? The inventory field shows your balance of inventory for the item, and will generally be made up of sales and purchases. The open field indicates if the entry has been “applied to” or not, If there is a tick box in the open field it means it is awaiting application. The easiest way to explain is with an example. You receive in 3 PO’s for 10, 15 and 20. Each one of these lines will have a tick in the open field. If then a sales order is invoiced for 10 the first PO line will no longer have a tick in it, it will no longer be open because in effect the sales order for 10 has been applied to the purchase order for 10.
