We are currently running Navision 3.70A SQL with Navision Application Server (Build 16172). The Navision Application Server intermittently stops throughout the day. The user that is used to run NAS is a windows user with SUPER permissions.

When we go to the event viewer the message below is shown. We simply go back to NAS and restart the service which has been set to ‘stopped’ and everything starts running again - what does this error actually mean - is there anything we can do to stop this intermittent failure.

The full message that is received is…

In th properties of the service (in tab recovery), you can define what to do if the service fails : put in all 3 the fields “restart the service” and put field “restart service after” to 0. This will restart the service each time it fails.

If you use an object in Navision Application server outside your current licence you also can have a similar error. If that isn’t the error try to make a technical upgrade to check if the error is an EXE error.

Thankyou for all your input guys.

I have changed the Recovery properties as suggested and will monitor the event viewer.

We are not using any objects outside our object range - perhaps you could explain what you mean by a technical upgrade of our exe - I am not sure what is meant by that?

Thankyou

Kylea

Upgrade client from 3.70A to 3.70 and if error persists.

I think he means to 400SP3 update 6 or 7.

ups, wrong typing. [:P]
