TABLE WITH MORE THAN 2 GB

We have a client that has a problem with the Item Ledger Entries table. The size is over 2 GB and since this size has been overcome, the Database has started to give many problems. The version of the database is: Navision Financials 2.01. Plese, if someone knows what can be happening …

Hello Jose, Please could you give examples of the issues you are having? We need to know the symptoms before we can suggest a cure. When you added the second *.fdb file to the database, did you have the customer back up the current database, create a new database (Of say, 2 x 2Gb *.fdb files) & restore into the new database? If you just added a second *.fdb file, then one could be very full of data & the other very empty & the imbalance might cause performance issues. Hope this is of assistance! -------------------------------- Edward Bloomfield Navision Support Consultant Cambridge Online Systems Limited www.cambridgeonline.net

We have the same problems and there does seem to be some performance problems. Our ILE table is app. 2,7 Gb - therefor it seems that the table is 100 % optimized at all time. When you browse the table from the Item card, the respone time has grown after it reached 2 GB. I dont know if there is anything to do (beside delete in/date compress the table), but if anyone knows a suitable solution I’m listening! Thanks Best Regards Mads Morre DK

We made a complete backup and after this, we made the restore. The CPU is now in 100% of kernel one day each week. We are very afraid of this behaviour of the system. Moreover, the table Item Ledger Entries is now in 100% of Optimization (MMM!!!).
