I am a student of Logistics Information System course and I come to this forum while looking info to my report about Axapta. I will be glad if you can look to End users questions in Dynamics AX and help me with the research.
I have to prepare report about ERP systems and particularly about shop floor modules in Microsoft Dynamics AX. I found really nice book Dynamics AX: A Guide to Microsoft Axapta and little junk information in internet. On that base I figured out that there is no Kanban support in Axapta. Can you advice me what solutions are used additionally to cover this area. On MS page I found company Ultrivia (http://www.ultriva.com/products/kanban.html) that they are saying that they don’t have “pre-built connectors” to Microsoft solutions.
I would be thankful for any suggestion, reports or articles that deal with shop floor control modules and Kanban solution for Dynamics AX on students level.
For example mentioned book should be with CD with two files:

On Kanban, I remember seeing an vertical offering for Dynamics Ax from eBECS.

Microsoft have announced that a Kanban solution and several others areas that fit under the umbrella of “Lean Manufacturing” will be released within AX5.0 prior to the end of 2007. Prior to this I believe there were some third party add-ons in this area.
So whilst it is not there now Microsoft have realised the need and have bought a solution.
I am fighting on get SFC up and running. It seems that my Setup is different from the proposed help in AX 5.0. I see the SFC. I can clock in employee. I also can clock in and start Jobs in SFC but all that happens different then training materials says. I thought I can do all the entries through Job registration. I can use that form to enter the employee ID and it shows me the open Jobs. However, I can’t run any feedback on that form. Once I click anything it forwards me to another screen. Finishing a job clocks the Employee out.
Do you have any guidance material or advise on setting up SFC?
