Shared vs separate COA

Dear MS-365 Champions,

We have more than 5 companies in the group which needs to be consolidated and we have to decide COA for all of them. Can someone here guide me whether shared or separate COA is better with respect to business features such as when it comes to inter-company transactions, eliminations etc

I highly recommend you keep the Chart of Accounts the same or close to the same. You can have differences since on each Companies Chart of Account Card you will define the COA the account points too for Consolidation (Consolidation Company). If you believe this is hard to maintain, you can consider keeping a Master COA in 1 Company and it will auto-sync to all other companies, using a FREE APP
