Setup a workstation with Navision 3.56a

I’ve have a problem with a workstation, the software won’t start, and Netbeui protocol is installed and is set as deafult. When i start Navision it will not conect to the server, Error message “name not found” restart the server and client. The workstation is connected with the server’s domain name, but i dont know if navision has a setup function for clients. Sincerly Oggy

On the install media, there should be a Netbios test tool. If you can get this to communicate, then you should be OK. Sorry I can’t even remember the programes names, but something like nbserv.exe and nbclient.exe. You start the server on one machine, (most likely the Navision server) and then run the client on the client machines. edit- Actually come to think of it, these programs are not on the install media, I think you have to get them from your dealer, [V] maybe someone here has them.

Well this is going to sound pretty sad, but I actually have all the 3.56 DOS and OS/2 tools on my local machine.[8D] I have placed the NetBIOS tool kit in the downloads section… http://www.mbsonline.org/forum/file_library.asp?showmethefile=22&thatcat=2&thiscat=Admin%2FNetwork%2FDatabase+Tools

Thank you David Singleton for your help and reply. I’ve got the client to work ! It was NetBeui protocol that was the problem. Thank’s for all your help Sincerley Oggy “Heine V. Andersen”[:)]

No problem. I guess its just as well that I don’t do a hard disk clean up. In any case its easier to just go and get a bigger one.
