service item creation

Hi Friends,

We are giving consulting services to our client. in this case how to create service item

and post in PO.???

For service item creation, i went to

1- inventory model nd uncheck stock product

2- product master- create item as service, but still systam is asking to enter

item group nd item dimension…

here my question is if it is a service item then why system is throwing error message

to enter item group nd item dimension.

Pls tell us how to create service item nd post in PO.

Item postings to GL will happen through item groups, so you must have an item group attached to the service item. Also, you should specify the dimension groups by creating a dimension group with nothing selected.

without having the mandatory fields filled in you can’t do the transactions with the item though it is of a service type item.
