Our client has windows server 2008 and sql 2005 and all workstation is at WINXP SP2. when connecting to the server its giving me an error “Server not found”. Please help.

Is the “SQL Browser” Service aktive? If not, then start it and try to connect. Does this error occur only if you try to connect via the Server-Name or is it the same if you connect to the Server-IP?

And the “SQL Browser Service” (please check the SQL Server Configuration Manager?
What User Account is used for the “SQL Server Service”? If you run it with a DOmain-Administrator Account, does it work then?
