Anybody: Where is data written to the Serial No. Information table? I can’t find a SerialNoInfo.INSERT/MODIFY anywhere. Thanks

I might be wrong, but I think the Serial No. and Lot No. infos are optional and they just have to be typed in, if wanted. Anna
But if you assign serial numbers in the item tracking lines and post (receive), they show up in the the Serial No. Info table.
Hello Nath, Do you mean that you can actually see them when you run the Serial No. Information (T6504) table? Or that they are visible under Receipts → Line → Item Tracking Entries (And possibly drill down in the Serial Number field)? If you are running 3.01 or 3.10, you can drill down into the Serial No. field, but in the top blue bar of the Serial Number Information Card is “untitled” or you run 3.60 or 3.70 & you cannot drill down into the Serial No. field becuase you get the error "No information exists for Serial No. XXX ", then there is nothing in the actual Serial No. Information (T6504) table - The information is actually coming from the Item ledger Entry table & there is no Serial No. Information record, until someone manually enters something in the Serial No. Information Card. If you run the table itself, you will see that there is nothing there (Or at least the record you are looking for does not exist). If your system is automatically creating entries in the Serial No. Information table then this is something that has been changed for your system & is not standard (Or might be a US local feature…) Hope this is of some help.
Thanks. I figured out that when I was drilling down and validating fields (and entering descriptions) on the form I was in essence manually entering data. It seemed that the system was doing it automatically.
