We are using NAV 5.01, SQL Server 2005 std.
We added two users ( ‘a’ and ‘b’ ) to a new role ‘X’
Problem for User ‘a’
User ‘a’ used to assign menusuites to other users using ALT+F12
After assigning menusuites when user ‘a’ compiled it, NAV threw permission error as
You don’t have permission to modify Company Menusuite
I checked Role X for that permission. It was there.
I Sync. all logins … didn’t help me
I deleted the ZUP file and tried again,it went in vain
Problem for User ‘b’
User ‘b’ used to work in HR module
Everything is working fine for user ‘b’
But when user ‘b’ change something in a form, it threw an error
Combination Of user id and password is incorrect…
I checked User ‘b’ Username and password … It’s correct
I Sync. all logins … didn’t help me
I deleted the ZUP file and tried again,it went in vain
What can i do now?

Go to tools---->License-----> now check what license you have set for the users? if its cronus then change it to your private user license.
And what can this X role do? its permissions , can we know?

I checked the license,its our license only…
As I mentioned in the above post the X role do most part of the sys.admin of NAV

Only Super has all the permission in Nav, if you are saying that you hav set permission for thois role x, then what permission did you set, like read permission, write, or has permission to only certain tables/forms…like that 'm asking.
you can know more about the permissions by going to tools----->Security--------->roles , now see whats set for your role x.

When the user access emp card and change something then the error occurs as
Combination of user id and password is incorrect
Apart from that everthing is working fine for user ‘b’
yeah i get it…And what about the Permission set for sys admin…whats role are given?
System admin are said to be as "Super User ". We have defined & gave access all the roles & permissions as the same as SUPER Role
hey i had that problem too now, do as i did, its working for me now…
go to the menu suit , select design, and right click on the finance Mgmt (or whatever dept you are choosing )------>assign users-----> now check it. if the super is clicked or not.
then on clicking it, it will work [:)]

The User has access to two databases … In DB1 the user has no company wise restriction …
In DB2 the user is restricted to a particular company…
When the user assign menusuite & compiling from DB2 it threw an error like
You dont have permission to modify Company menusuite…
I removed the companywise restriction from DB2 and assign menusuite to the users & compiled now it works…
