we did the technical upgrade from Nav5 to NAv2009 (classic client). now the sql database shows 50% free space in database. we want to shrink this space to conserve our disk utilization, as its a very big db. what would be the best and safe way…sql shirk db /file or is there an option from nav itself.
Hi Sharpblue,
If you have to shrink it, then do it from SQL. Here you have the right tools to do so. Remember to backup everything (twice) before starting.
But 50% free space isn’t very much, you should always keep min. 20% free anyway.
So unless the space issue is a problem, then save you the work, it will most like fill up within a year or so anyway.
