Re Number Document Nos.

Hi Guys I want to re number the Document nos in G/L entry table. I have selected a manual series so that no series won’t create any problem. I just want to attach a prefix to the document no. What i want from u guys is name of the tables which will get affected by this Renumbering? Thanx in Advance Rajan

hi Take the help of NAVIGATE functionality. It will give you all the tables where you have to update. Regards

To know all the involved tables one need to know which version of NA you are running and what kind of documents you are planning to tamper with. Even so, I wouldn’t be able to tell by sure. [:p] Anna

The safest answer is don’t do it. More bad can come of a change like this than good. If you need to continue, you can use the Developer’s Toolkit to find any References to Document No. and make your changes accordingly.

Er, the correct way to renumber the Document nos in G/L entry table is to renumber the Document nos that fed them. If you are absolutely sure that G/L entries you plan to rename were created via the General Journal (please investigate the Source Code and Source Code Setup) you can simply renumber (modify) them along with the corresponding Customer/Vendor & VAT entries (if any). I strongly recommend that if this makes little or no sense to you then follow everybody elses advice: don’t do it.
