In Sales Order Parameters, we have the following: 1) Ledger and Sales Tax Tab: Invoicing Period, Terms of Payments, Date of Payment : Where does this information gets defaulted, I mean exactly into which field. Does it gets defaulted in to Customers or Sales Order’s? If Sales Order, which field in these sessions. There is a mention of Due Date in Terms of Payments and Date of Payment help. How is this due date calculated and in Sales Orders, we have the following: 2) Payment and due date which gets its default value from Customer Groups. To me Payment in Sales Order and Invoicing Period in Sales Order Parameters is the same thing. Yet the information is this field is defaulted from Customer Groups. What’s the difference between these 2. How is Invoicing Period, Terms of Payment and Date of Payment used in Sales Order Parameters used. How do all of these relate to Payment in Sales Order. We also have a Settle Period mentioned in the Customer Groups which appears to be the equivalent of Terms of Payments in the Sales Order Parameters. How is this used in view of Terms of Payment? Please help resolve the matter.
Hi Rajendra, I am not a functional consultant. That said, I will try to answer some of your queries - Regarding Invoicing period, Terms of payment and Date of payment fields under Sales ledger → Setup → Parameters → Ledger and VAT tab, I think these are default values for calculating Appropriations and Liquidity in Axapta. These fields are specific appropriation (cashflow forecast) parameters. The same would apply for Ledger and VAT parameters tab in PL as well. The results of cashflow forecast can be seen from - 1) When you activate ‘Calculate Cashflow forecasts’ under GL → Periodic → Currency requirement → Calculate cashflow forecasts form 2) From SO/PO, using the Inquiries button If you are interested in Appropriations & Liquidity, do please let me know. I can send a document which would explain this in detail. The ‘Terms of payment’ that we set up in Customer groups are the default payment terms for customer groups. This field is used if no payment terms are specified on the sales order or the customer. But say, if no payment terms are specified here, then the default payment terms from the customer parameters will be used. Hope this helps, Harish Mohanbabu
- In Accounts receivable parameters, the fields: Invoicing Period, Terms of Payments, Date of Payment on the tabpage Ledger and Sales Tax Tab under the header Cashflow forecast. These fields are ONLY used for cashflow forecast. The defaults for your cash flow calculation. 2) Invoicing period in Acc. Rec. parameters is also used for cashflow forecast, and has nothing to do with the “real” due date of the customer for an invoice.
Harish and sdaudey, Thanks guys, its absolutely crystal clear now. Highly appreciated. Harish: On the document…I am indeed and definitely interested in it but I just have too…too much on my plate. May not be able to do justice in terms of comprehending it if you send it like a gentleman. But be sure that I have it my mind and that I shall ask for it when I am ready. sdaudey: I used to work for Baan and used to very frequently travel led to Ede where u live. Nice place…Nice people.
