Production Order Picking Journal lines generated with empty batch column, no batch number is being picked automatically.
This is after enabling advance warehouse system over the warehouse with traditional warehouse batch numbers picked automatically.
Hi @Muhammad_khan
Common issue with advanced warehouse. Traditional warehouse picks batches from item level. Advanced warehouse needs batch info at the location/bin level.
Quick fix:
- Ensure batches are assigned to warehouse locations (not just item master)
- Reserve batches explicitly against the production order
- Check WMS config, batch tracking enabled for that location?
- Then generate picking lines
The empty batch column happens because the system can’t find batch info at location level.
Try reserving the batch first, then generate picking lines. Should fix it.
Let me know if you need more details.
Muhammad, check following setups first.
- Production control/Setup/Production control parameters
- General fasttab/Reservation field: make sure this is ‘Release’ when using advanced warehouse management
- Warehouse management/Setup/Location directives
- Choose Work order type Raw material picking
- Under Location Directive Actions fasttab, select ‘Batch enabled’ parameter
I assume you are trying to backflush the raw material. You have to make sure the batch is in production input location before it can be backflushed. So, you might have to complete raw material picking work first, either manually or automatically, depending on your process:
- Warehouse management/Setup/Work/Work templates
- Choose Work order type Raw material picking
- Automatically process parameter defines whether user needs to manually complete pick and putaway (using mobile device)
If you store raw materials in production input location and don’t need raw material picking work, then you can consider setting up Work policy:
- Warehouse management/Setup/Work/Work policy
check the actual inventory transactions. if multiple batches are automatically assigned, it won’t show on the picking list - you have to look at the inventory or batch transactions for each line.
