Production order - Gaps between consecutive operations

Hi all,
I’m trying to understand why there is a large scheduling gap between the first operation 10 and the next operation 20 for the finished goods.
This should not be happening, as the resource group that is used for the 10 operation bears resources that have infinite capacity, so the first operation should be scheduled just in time to meet the schedule of 20 operations when backward scheduling. The clock hour queue used is only 24 between operations so this shouldn’t be the cause.
This is the actual route that the system gives:
Op.No Task type Res. No Start Date start time End date End time
10 Process Resource 1 02/24/2014 06:45am 2/14/2014 06:49 am
10 Queue after Resource1 2/14/2014 06:49 am 2/15/2014 06:49 am
20 Setup Resource 2 2/24/2014 01:53 pm 2/24/2014 02:42 pm

70 process Resource 4 2/25/2014 04:59 pm 2/25/2014 05:04 pm

Any help will be appreciated on that .

There is not enough information here to answer I am afraid. What version are you on? Is any part of the route finite? AX does this naturally backfilling from a required date scheduling in this manner. Cannot remember if the link field still exists, but this was a known issue but argued “by design”.

Hi Adam,

Task type " Queue after" has capacity unchecked ; Job management unchecked and working time unckecked on the Route group ( R1) ;

Task type " process" has capacity checked ; Job management checked and working time ckecked on the Route group ( R1) ;

Does it make any difference? and what do you mean by " but this was a known issue"?

Thanks

It s a known issue in scheduling that gaps occur.

Remove the capacity constraint and reschedule, see if it moves it how you want it. If it does talk to your partner.
