Other than through program code, is there a way to change the default value of the Flushing Method Filter in the Production Journal?
I only know a programmer has to get involved.
Only Flushing Method=Manual can be posted in the Production Journal. So do not change the logic there. The possibility to filter on other Flushing Methods is just to inform the user whenever needed. Forward Flushing means consumption will be posted when Production Order is Released, Backwards will post consumption when order changes status to Finished etc. So do not change the default value when opening Production Journal. What is the reason you would like to change?
The users are changing the filter to see backflushed lines so that item tracking can be added.
Then their Flushing Method should be Manual, not Backward.
Agree with Steve’s comment that a developer would need to get involved. It is possible to post transactions for any flushing method through the production journal, but normally this is focused on the manual method since those are manually posted through the journal, but it is possible. I have also exposed the other methods to add the lot number to the lines so the backward flushing will pick it up. This is quite common when dealing the lot-controlled items which need to be flushed.
You can leave the Flushing Method to Backward Flushing, but you need to teach the Users to open the Production Order - Components page to enter the Item Tracking Information. Then when you Output or Finish the Prod. Order it will backflush the components and the related Item Tracking assigned.
