Hi, I understand the standard Navision functionality does not support forecasting production by item variant. Has anybody attempted/succeeded in customising the product in order to achieve this? I assume much work would be required in the MPS planning engine. Any help appreciated, Jonathan
Hi Jonathan My understanding even without the production forecasts is that Navision will not plan by variant. If you set up an item with variant stock and load a sales order breaking reorder levels of the variant and run the requisition worksheet then the suggested replenishment has no variant - you have to specify it. You cannot load a production forecast by variant as standard, and Navision also will not plan by variant. I have never worked with them so maybe missing something. You may also want to post this in the developer forum to see if anyone has attempted this, but yes I would also assume it would be a lot of work!
