Problem with Application Server

We have a website that is displaying Navision data using commerce portal. The Navision database is a proprietary one that is running on an NT4 server. The application server is on a server that is running Server 2000 and this links to the server that hosts the website which also runs Server 2000. We are having an intermittant problem retrieving the data from Navision to the website. This problem occurs at least once a day. The problem once we are aware of it can be resolved by stopping and starting the Navision Application Server service. We have looked at the event viewer and it seems to suggest some kind of communications error. The messages are as follows : Message 1 Event Type: Warning Event Source: NAVAS Event Category: None Event ID: 109 Date: 18/02/2004 Time: 17:25:08 User: N/A Description: The network is not functioning correctly. A ‘packet’ has been corrupted (a checksum error). This error indicates that the network is not completely reliable. Please note how often this type of error occurs in the network. Contact your system manager if you need assistance. Message 2 Event Type: Warning Event Source: NAVAS Event Category: None Event ID: 109 Date: 18/02/2004 Time: 17:25:08 User: N/A Description: The connection to the server was interrupted because of a communication error. Start the client again. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this error as the issue is undermining peoples confidence in our website. Any information would be welcome. Regards

How many request would you say that the Application Server handles per day?

I don’t know. Is there anywhere on the server that captures this information?

I’m asking because there could be a problem with Navisions memory/ressource handling which on a great load would require you to restart the NAS service once or twice a day. This is always a good idea…

I understand why you are asking but I am not sure how I can get am idea of how many requests the application server is handling. Is there an application or log somewhere where I could access this information?
