I have been trying to restrict users or user groups to each Journal Names in the General Ledger Module using Posting Restriction feature. But on clicking the user or user group it doesnt give me the option of selecting user/user group.
It will only display the user or user groups- in which permissions are given to general ledger module(Ledger Journals)
All the users currently have admin rights but I want to restrict a Journal name only to a specific users. How does that work
The user only in the admin group cannot be restricted for posting the journal - so create another usergroup and add the user to the created user group(The user created should have permissions for General journals-it is meaning less if restricting the user how don’t have permissions). If you want the same rights to be given to the user group created as Admin group - export the permissions from admin group and then import the permissions file to the created user group)
hi
by selecting radio button on By user group , By user and no posting restrictions then click OK , close the form and once again open the same form, it s not saving the settings. what to do???
Exactly it is not saving the settings…
Hi Kranthi,
I have created several users and a separate user group with only GL permissions and allocated them to this group. Even after that when i go to Posting Restriction and select the radio button ‘By User Group’, it doesnt let me select the user group or the users.
When there is more than one user group other than Admin, User groups appear in the Posting restriction screen of Journal Names. And for users, only when a user has been allocated to a user group other than admin, user appears on the Posting Restriction screen of Journal Names.
Hi For this …you first have to setup Private User Group on Journals form (General Tab). Then you go to Posting Restriction button, you will see the records there.
