Post Inventory Cost to GL

Hi All,

I have a scenario where cost was not posted to GL since March 2014. The item master has around 60000 records. Now when we try to post the cost to GL its taking too long.

We had to cancel it 4 times since it starts locking the tables & affecting users. Left it to run overnight as well still didnt finish & we had to cancel it.

Please let me know the best way to over come this & bring the process to current.

The time will be depend on the no of transactions. I hope before that adjust cost batch job is run.

I suggest lets filter with Item No .Lets try with items with one category and run the batch job.

Yes We are trying to post after running the batch job. Started doing by filtering on items.

One more clarification on Cost Posting to GL.

Once the Adjust cost item/Entries is run. Do we need to post the Cost to GL for the date range since the time it was last posted or it can be just for the day we run the batch job?

Please assist.

Yes you need to run Cost Post to GL batch job which will update value in G/L Entry table,
