AX 2012 R2 (CU7) generated following error when posting POS statement, article reported have positive physical quantity. Yet AX generated insufficient quantity error. Any guess what else we shall check or is it a known issue with AX 2012 R2 (Cu7).

We have checked Microsoft has released hotfix for Transfer Orders having similar problem. Can we try the hotfix for Retail as well, because I guess error is generated by the inventory framework that is used by both Retail & SCM module as well. Any idea.

Yes the fix should resolve this , Lifecycle services also suggest the following
The changes in the hotfix include changing the logic of merging warehouse, if the item location is null, then use the default location of warehouse
