pls share some training material with me.i need some which provides a great deal of step-by-step examples of nav 5.0

i am a fresh man for this job. i have to get acquainted with nav 5.0 and then later do some developing work. there’s something i have to declare ,that is it’s my third day into navision.

so i resolve to learn it by doing a lot of step-by-step examples of nav such as:handle items with substitues; creating sales line descounts for a campaign; Updating sales prices …and so on.

and then i need some training materials for simple development which also gives step-by-step examples.

thanks.

You can download the training material from customersource and/or partnersource. If you don’t have access yourself, talk to the person that is in charge of NAV at your work, and they should be able to help you get the material.

Thank you ,Den. actually i will be the person who is about to be in charge of NAV. i have looked through all the materials, unfortunately ,those stuffs are just manuals for basic concepts and almost don’t provide step-by-step examples which i badly need.

i don’t want to get nothing after reading a lot. i need a quick start through some hands-on exercises.

How do you intend to do hands on exercises without knowing the basics? In the manuals there are test your knowledge sessions. Also you could follow a manual and create your own settings to understand. Failing this book yourself onto a trainer lead training course and learn this way, or employee a consultant to come in and guide you through hands-on exercises. Whichever way you go there is no real quick fix to this I am afraid, well not if you want to do it properly.

I have the fully training documents for navision 2009, If you need, Please tell me your mail, I can send u.

But there are more then 200M, Or I can give u a link for downloading…

Thank you,Adam,i really appreciate your sincere suggestions.it’s a perfect way to view all the manuals regarding nav, nevertheless it’ll be half a year after i finish it. so i choose to learn it by following some examples, which i can learn some basic concepts too.

and Gary, thank you so much. Considering the oversize docs, could you kindly send the link for me ?nav 5.0 is better if you have it.

Gary, pls add my qq: three, and four, and six and one, four ,and seven and three and zero.

thanks .

I have added u. My qq is : 249786437.

I am guessing the training docs are the manuals.

I would suggest you get a consultant internally to sit down with you and go through the overall basic concepts for you - looking for material for this will be fruitless.

Yes, I agree with Adam completely.

In fact, in the last year I spent nearly 3 months to get the MB7-841 certificate from starting to learn nav 2009. That period is a hard travel. I have to read the documents day and night and no usefull suggestion on some basic concepts, that is horrible. So if you have the chance, I advise u get a consultant who has serveral experence on nav. That will be more helpfull. Good Luck. Cheer.

So you are suddenly in charge of a product you have never seen or worked with before? What type of company do you work for? What is your role within that company?

Yes, the NAV manuals are long, but they also have step by step examples in them. The fact is that NAV is a huge system. You may be able to understand the very basics of it quickly, but to be able to properly develop and implement the software (which it sounds like you may be doing) takes years of hard work and multiple implementations with senior consultants.

I wish you the best of luck. But don’t expect to know it all, or even 10% of it, in a short amount of time.

I guess more work for me on the horizon. [^]

@ David,

Here I see a doctor (yourself as damage controller/ fixer) laughing (getting happier) on spread of a diseases (bad implementation).  LOL
