I have a BOM for item A. One of the BOM line items B has a line type Phantom.
When I have a Sales Order for item A and I run the MRP the system creates a planned prodcution order for item A and a planned production order for item B, the Phantom?
I expect a planned prodcution order for A and not for B. B should just be exploded in the prodcution order of A.
Anyone an idea?
What is the Coverage code of the Coverage group Item B belongs to? I have run across this issue as well and found it did not work as intended if it was Manual.
The coverage code of item B is ‘requirement’. I did some further investigation yesterday and found out that since AX 2012 the MRP creates planned production ordes for Phantom items, in AX 2009 and 4.0 this was not the case. These planned production orders for Phantoms are checked with ‘Directly derived’ check box. You cannot firm these planned orders they are just there for information purposes. They are deleted when the parent planned production order is firmed.
It is only a holding point to give you the pegging - in reality it did the same previously to peg it, but you never saw it, now you get the view and the indication in the pegging of what it is. Thought it did this in AX2009 from memory…
