Open customer record in Navsion from another application?

Hi,

We have a vendor-provided application based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 (version DE 2.60.F 5.0 SP1).

My use case is this:

  1. Assume that Navision is running and the user is logged in.
  2. Another application tells Navision to show a specific customer identified by customer id.
  3. The user continues working in Navision and switches back to the other application.

Basically I’m looking for a way to tell Navision to fetch and show a customer identified by customer id without user input.

Is there a way to do this using command line options, an API or would I have to resort to something like a UI scripting language (e.g. Autohotkey)?
