Not stocked products

In the AX 2012 Supply Chain Foundation manual (page 48).

A not stocked product is a product of the item or service type that cannot be

tracked in inventory, but can still be handled through the receiving and shipping

process. Also, master planning will include not stocked products.

I was wondering how master planning consider the ‘not stocked’ products.

If you put demand on I would guess it would plan for it despite the lack of inventory transactions - but I suggest you run a simple test. Load a sales order with no stock, configure it into planning and run planning - tell us what it does.

Hello, I am wondering if there is a site where I can download the manual that Atech refer to? if it is in partner source, would you please give me the link?
