Nonstock Items

Can someone please tell me about nonstock items in NAV 4.0 and if there is any differences in NAV 5.0. We currently don’t use any nonstock items, but we do have many products that should be considered. Right now, they just use one item number, example Special T, for everything so you get no history. I am trying to convince them to change, but I really don’t know much about the nonstock items. Any help would be great. Thanks.

The Nonstock Items are items that aren’t in inventory. If can use this kind of items if you don’t want to handle in your warehouse those items.
Basically you only care about invoicing. Warehousing, shipping are handled by vendor.
