NEGATIVE INVENTORY

IS IT POSSIABLE IN ATTAIN TO MANUFACTURE YOUR PRODUCT AND GO NEGATIVE IN RAW MATERIALS.

Hi Frostick No need to shout! Components cannot go negative as standard in Navisio. Old adage of not being able to use the stock if you have not got it. How are you using the components, front/back/manual flush? If it is on all parts and you want to start production ensure they are not front flushed components as they will say you do not have the inventory to start, a valid point as you have set this up in this manner. However, simple answer is NO!! Steve

Thanks, what happens is is we have the raw goods in but, we will not get an invoice for two days and have been up to a week before it comes in. Its hard to use the packing slip due to it being in greek, some are very hard to read. It helps to match invoice to packing slip to insure that its correct. You will not have to correct errors and do it at one time by doing the invoice and inventory at one time. We are back flushing. We used SBT accounting and it would lets us do this. thanks jim

Hi Frostik, If you have received the goods in through a purchase receipt you can post consumption of these in Attain. Previously there was no expected cost posting in Navision, now with attain you can set the inventory to use an expected cost (that is on the purchase order). The system then adjusts this cost on the G/L upon receiving or Invoicing of the PO by reversing the expected cost and posting the actual cost. But it is important to make sure you run the Cost batch Jobs in the inventory periodic activities each time you finish a production order. The quantity and the value entries have been spearated in Attain unlike one entry in the item ledger in previous version of Navision. Thanx, Best regards, Prashanth NCFC, NCMC, NCSD pbg@navilogic.com
