Hi, I am upgrading NF2.60 to MBS 3.70. I have encounterd some entries in Item Ledger Entries with bins having negative quantity and all the entries are closed. MBS 3.70 does not allow negative inventory in BINS. What will be the best solution to handle this contidion? As long as these entries are present with negative inventory, dataupgrade tools will not allow to upgrade the data. Best Regards
The best (Only [;)]) way to handle it is to adjust the inventory in the bin to 0 on a bin-by-bin basis. You need to determine whether you will just post a postitive adjustment or transfer from another bin. It will be a fairly manual process. If you want to avoid manual, you can physical count everything in a negative bin to 0 as well.
Well, the next issue is whether the bins actually match up to the total on hand in the item ledger. In NAD 2.60, it was quite often an issue where the warehouse ledger and item ledger get out of sync. If you’ve got a negative amount in the warehouse and simply change it to zero through the physical inventory count, then you’ll never be able to match it up…that is without using a special one-sided adjustment function. I hope you don’t have the problem.
Let’s hope that NF meant NF in this case. [}:)] Otherwise, like Bill Said you may have a pile of work on your hands.
