Has any one sold Navision Attain against Syteline7 from Mapics? How does Syteline measure up in precision Engineering industry?
Hi Krishna, Just curious, never heard about this Syteline product…Is this product really competitive in Singapore ?
Frontstep orinally created Syteline7 for the SQL platform. Unfortunately, they incurred a tremendous amount of debt and were never able to fully integrate all the pieces of the product together. While some of the functionality does look “slick”, the package is full of holes. MAPICS, an Atlanta company, acquired Frontstep and assumed their $20+million debt. MAPICS hasn’t fixed any of the bugs and has in fact laid off a tremendous number equalling about 20% of their workforce to compensate for the debt. I have been told by sources as well that there are only a handfull of “live” clients and on the Syteline7 product world-wide and of those…none are happy. Remember, there is also a Syteline product that should not be confused with Syteline7. Syteline by MAPICS does in fact have a large customer base…but I don’t think works on SQL. Hope this helps…bottom line is when in competition with this group bring up the issues of referencable clients on Syteline7…this should definitely turn the tide if they check them.
