Hi! I read at Microsoft the following: To gain all the benefits of MSCS, the application must be cluster aware. As mentioned, a cluster-aware application is one that understands the cluster architecture and is able to fail over in the event of a failure. Not all applications are cluster aware and cluster capable “out of the box.” Is Navision 2.60 Cluster aware? Attain? Has anybody Navision on a Windows Cluster running? Under Windows Nt 4.0 or Windows 2000? If anybody has such a cluster give me some details to your hard- and software on which your cluster runs. Thanks!
I got the following information from the Navision Technical Briefing 2002: Feature - SQL Server - Navision Server SIFTechnology - Added - Native Locking Scheme - Record Level - Table Level Backup/Restore - Server-Based - Client-Based Database Size - Unlimited - 64 GB Cluster Aware - Yes - No A knows “SQL-Server Hardware”: Server configuration xSeries 250 2 x Xeon PIII 700 MHz CPU 2.8 GB memory Database size 32GB MB used – expand to 110 GB Windows NT 4 + SP6 CS is a pretty nice product. As you can update CS from Navision Attain even it you use the native Navision database, you should not think too much about Cluster Awareness Regards Walter Edited by - walter@kirz on 2002 Jun 11 06:12:35
