I am thinking about installation of update 6 for NAV 4.0 on SQL2000 powered system. I would like to know is there a sence from DB integration point of view to install that update on SQL2000 or it was released mainly to deal with query caching issue on 2005?
One of my customers implemented it this week on their 2000 system and despite of my warning they did not deactivate the index hinting.
They’ve had a loooong day and after that day decided to deactivate indexhinting anyway.
Only use update 6 if you suffer from the SIFT or FAST issues.
I’ve also heard that update 6 has a bug hoding locks when popups are used in NAV, but I have not checked that myself.
